First Solar is a prime example of the environmentally and socially focused companies we aim to invest in. Headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, First Solar is a global producer of eco-efficient solar modules advancing the fight against climate change.

Innovation – Stand outs in their industry for pioneering thin-film panels that differ from typical crystalline-silicon technology. First Solar’s advanced thin film photovoltaic (PV) modules are manufactured using less energy, water and semiconductor material, resulting in the best environmental profile in the industry.
Recycling and Circular product life – First Solar recovers up to 90% of materials and can recycle semiconductor material over 40 times. Operates facilities in the US, Germany and Malaysia to meet recycling goals.
Environmental commitments – Part of RE100, a global corporate network committed to 100% renewable energy.
3rd Party validation – Their panels are the world’s first photovoltaic product to be included in the EPEAT register for sustainable electronics. This globally recognized and independently verified ecolabel gives customers confidence that they are purchasing an environmentally leading product from a socially responsible company.
Socially Responsible Solar – Have adopted and adhere to labor, human rights and conflict minerals policies. Member of the Responsible Business Alliance, whose goal is to support the rights and well-being of workers and communities in the global supply chain.
